31/10 – 11/11: THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS
L’adattamento cinematografico del racconto tedesco “Schiaccianoci e il re dei topi” (1816) di E. T. A. Hoffmann e del balletto “Lo schiaccianoci” di Pëtr Cjajkovskij, a sua volta ispirato alla traduzione poco fedele di Alexandre Dumas del racconto originale. Tutto ciò che vuole Clara è una chiave capace di aprire una scatola che contiene un dono speciale lasciatole dalla madre defunta. Un filo d’oro, che riceve durante la festa annuale del padrino Drosselmeyer, la conduce all’ambita chiave e a un mondo magico e parallelo alla sua realtà. È lì che Clara incontra un soldato di nome Phillip, una banda di topi e reggenti che presiedono a tre reami: la terra dei fiocchi di neve, quella dei fiori e infine quella dei dolci. Clara e Phillip devono sfidare l’infausto Quarto Regno a cui fa capo la tiranna Madre Ginger, per recuperare la chiave e riportare l’armonia nel mondo.

All Clara wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key-which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.
